The City of Hanford and the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC) have agreed to partner to give residents and businesses within City limits the opportunity to sustainably recycle their unwanted mattresses, box springs, and futons all while reducing the amount of waste contributed to landfills and discouraging illegal dumping.

The City of Hanford has set up a drop-off location located at 900 S. 10th Avenue for City residents and businesses to drop off unwanted mattresses for free Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and every third Saturday of each month from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. free of charge.

  • The Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress program recycles nearly 2 million mattresses each year.
  • Program recyclers divert approximately 65 million pounds of materials from landfill each year.

The Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress program recycles more than 1 million mattresses each year in California. More than 11 million mattresses have been recycled in California since the program began in 2016.
