Redevelopment Agency

What is Redevelopment?
Redevelopment provided financial resources for city and county governments to improve blighted areas. Redevelopment areas receive a larger share of the property taxes generated by growth in the project area, known as tax-increment. AB 1X 26 dissolves redevelopment agencies.  The legislation was upheld by the California Supreme Court.  As a result of AB 1X 26 and the Supreme Court’s decision, RDAs are dissolved as of February 1, 2012.
