Recently, the City of Hanford was awarded $1 million from the U.S. Forest Service's Urban and Community Forestry Grants, part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
The "Hanford Goes Green" project includes planting trees and empowering individuals from disadvantaged communities through specialized training in tree care and maintenance, and equipping these individuals with urban forestry skills and job pathways. Additionally, the program emphasizes community outreach and engaging local residents."
