The prevention division's goals are to prevent the loss of life, property, and environment by providing efficient and cost-effective fire prevention and life safety programs to the citizens of Hanford. Enforcement and public education activities are used to fulfill these goals.

Public Education

The Hanford Fire Department offers various safety education programs for the citizens of Hanford. The Hanford Fire Department believes that through these educational programs a true "Fire safe community" can be achieved.

All programs except CPR are available to individuals and industries free of charge. CPR requires a nominal fee. Programs include but are not limited to:
