About the Project
The arrival of high-speed rail in Hanford offers an opportunity to create a thriving, inclusive, and context appropriate transit-oriented community near the station. The City and agency partners are developing a vision for an integrated land use, transportation, and infrastructure plan known as the Kings-Tulare High-Speed Rail (HSR) Station Transit-Oriented Development and Connectivity Plan and Cross Valley Corridor Rail (CVC) Service Planning project. The planning project will promote economic anchors tied to Hanford’s agricultural economy, foster social and rural regeneration, create positive health outcomes, enhance mobility access, and ensure that some of California's most disadvantaged and low-income communities can be the direct beneficiaries of high-speed rail’s arrival. The project focuses on the areas shown in the map below.
